Always surprised at how in tune I feel in the little Friends Meeting House space.
Perhaps it's the well-controlled toasty temperature of the cozy room; maybe the glimmering wooden floors; maybe the light pouring into the windows; . . . more likely, though, it's the quality of wonderful Yogis filling up the lovely space with their practices, their lovely smiles outward & inward, and their willingness to Feel Good in their beautiful bodies.
The more I am accepting my yogic journey in my particular body, the more I am learning, quite simply... it's GREAT to feel Wonderful in my body!
Clear & simple. Although, not so simple... since our minds may have other devious, torturous, and alienating plans laid out for us so that we DON'T get TOO comfy and happy in our own skin :) . . "Ohhh, NO, y'better do 20 situps before you can enjoy that piece o' pie!!" etc. . .
In the embodiment process, and in what perhaps the Tantrikas were exploring, we start to uncover the Truth: We CAN experience Bliss (dare I say!!) in our physical forms. That, in fact, our inhales & exhales... our bones & our tissues... our blood & our fluids... our organs & our marrows... are the gateways with seemingly imposing doors that we can learn to Unlock to experience Pure Enjoyment of Our Form As we are Now. WE are the STUFF that Dreams are Made of . . .
How much more enjoyable is Life when we can really appreciate and love our own matter, as cliche as it may sound?
So, in our practices, whether in Child's Pose, whether feeling the rise & fall of our bellies while breathing, whether finding the balance of Handstand - - we are mindful of & grateful for Our Gateways to Bliss - Our very own Bodies.
What other choice do we have, really?
So, with the next breath. . .
